Career Background

Will’s career as an award-winning professional photographer spans over 20 years. During this time he has developed a reputation for creating elegant, striking and creative images featured in high profile magazines and newspapers including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Creative Review and Digital Photographer.

His commissions, whether from celebrity agents, global businesses, publishers, PR consultancies or private clients, have taken him from the depths of snow-capped Siberia to the golden sand dunes of Tunisia. From photographing an elephant afraid of the flash, to shooting 52 metres above ground from Nelson’s column, Will has an enviable and striking portfolio of work gleaned from a huge diversity of people and places.

He has been commissioned to photograph a diversity of weddings, from idyllic rural locations to hip urban venues, and has been one of just four recommended photographers for weddings at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew for the last ten years.

Will lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young sons.

Will’s Approach

Will brings a fresh and personal approach to every wedding commission, taking time to find out the individual style and personality of each couple, and the impression they are looking to create. He works closely with them to identify the most important elements to capture in their images, to reflect their commitment to each other. These might be capturing a glimpse of a bride’s precious necklace handed down over generations; the nervous, anticipatory smile of a groom’s first view of his partner walking down the aisle; the palpable excitement of a family reunited from far-flung destinations; the glittering of a thread in a jewel-coloured sari; or the unfurling beauty of exotic blooms in Kew’s Botanical Gardens.

Will feels strongly that to get the best from the people he photographs it’s important to make them feel at ease, and this warm, relaxed, friendly manner is reflected in his stylish and classic yet sensitive images. This approach has made him a popular, successful, creative professional photographer at weddings and civil ceremonies. Many of his wedding commissions come from referrals, as other members of the wedding party love his manner and approach, and book him for their special days.

Some couples book Will to capture the whole story of their wedding, from the nervy anticipation of the very first, very special ‘getting ready’ shots through to the relaxed, fun evening of dancing and drinking as darkness falls. Others prefer for Will just to photograph the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. The choice is down to the individual couple, and Will can work with you to discuss this.
